Summary[edit]
DescriptionCochrane gilia, Aliciella heterostyla (33042669206).jpg |
Cochrane gilia, Aliciella heterostyla, Nevada, Monitor Range, Humboldt Toiyabe National Forest, Saulsbury Wash, Ralston Valley drainage, elevation 1805 m (5915 ft). Also identifiable is capped cryptantha (Greeneocharis circumscissa). This species is endemic to (but locally common in) northern Nye County, Nevada, at the southern edge of the Great Basin. It is closely related to another Nevada endemic, A. nyensis, found a little farther south. Aliciella heterostyla was only recognized as distinct in 1994 based on its dimorphic flowers which enforce cross-pollination. |
