Object history
English: Coat of arms of the Danish town of Skjern registered 1960. The silver wave symbolise Skjern Å, the second-largest river in Denmark. The key symbolises the city rights which Skjern got in 1958 making it the youngest market town in Denmark. The cross at the end of the key symbolises the four meeting houses of the large Lutheran community in the town at the time the arms were registered. The star is from the seal of the hundred of Bølling and is probably meant as a depiction of the spiked mace of the court officers.
