English: Coat of arms of the Spanish bishop Fernando Vérgez Alzaga L.C., Secretary-General of the Governorate of Vatican City State. He was the personal secretary of cardinal Eduardo Pironio, so he chose the same blazon and motto as him as a symbol of loyalty.
Español: Escudo del obispo español Fernando Vérgez Alzaga L.C., Secretario General del Gobierno de la Ciudad del Vaticano.

Fue secretario personal del cardenal Eduardo Pironio, por lo que, en símbolo de lealtad, escogió su mismo blasón y lema.
