Shield surrounded by the chain of the Golden Fleece and the Grand Crosses of the Order of Charles III (Spain), Order of Isabella the Catholic (Spain), Order of St. Ferdinand and Merit (Two Sicilies) and the Order of San Gennaro (Two Sicilies). Ducal crown as Grandee of Spain.

The painter made some mistakes in the portrait, He painted a crown of Spanish Infante in the Coat of arms of Cardinal Luis María of Bourbon. It is wrong SEE English Wikipedia art. Luis María de Borbón y Vallabriga, 14th Count of Chinchón, he never had the title of Spanish infante. Cardinal Luis of Bourbon used a Ducal crown as Grandee of Spain. He also change the heraldic tinctures in the second and third quarters for the Kingdom of León. The painter used the tincture of the field in the figure and the tincture of the field in the figure. Julian Rodero Carrasco also said the position of the fleurs-de-lis in the inescutcheon is wrong (1,2 instead 2,1). All mistakes are corrected in this file.

Cardinal Cardinal Luis María of Bourbon didn't use brisures in his arms. See this source. Spanish House of Bourbon no rules for cadency that time. Royal Family Member's arms were created ad-hoc. Members used frequently the undifferentiated royal arms, with the title's crown. Information from:

El pintor comete varios errores al dibujar en el escudo del retrato una corona de Infante, ya que el Cardenal Luis María de Borbón y Vallabriga nunca tuvo este título. Véase art. El Cardenal Luis María de Borbón y Vallabriga uso una corona ducal que es la empleada por la Grandeza de España con independencia de su título. También alteró el esmalte y el metal (colores) del campo y de la figura en el segundo y tercer cuartel, correspondientes al Reino de León, al invertirlos. El heraldista Julian Rodero Carrasco también señala que las lises figuran en posición incorrecta (1,2 en vez de 2,1). Todos los errores son subsanados en la imagen.

El Cardenal Luis María de Borbón utilizó las armas reales abreviadas, el escudo pequeño, sin diferencias en el campo del escudo. Con la dinastía borbónica fue frecuente que los escudos de los miembros de la FamilIa Real se diferenciaran solo con la corona de su respectivo título. Véase:
