Object history | Coat of arms of Katharine Elliot, Baroness Elliot of Harwood (1903-1994). This achievement was used from 1962 to 1994. She bears this achievement on a lozenge (as is traditional for a woman), atop the lozenge is the coronet of a British baron (under the Life Peerages Act 1958, she was created a life peer taking as her title Baroness Elliot of Harwood), she was the first peeress to speak in the House of Lords, the first peeress to propose the loyal address and the first peeress to pass a private bill through the House. | ||||||||||||
