Costurero de la Reina

The Sewing Queen , is a small building in Sevilla , with a castle, next to the Parque de María Luisa in Sevilla .

In the nineteenth century Antonio de Orleans , Duke of Montpensier , moved to live in the Palace of San Telmo in Seville (seat of government today the Junta de Andalucía ). Huge Palace Gardens would be adjusted in accordance with romantic taste. In 1893 built in the area of the gardens surrounding the Guadalquivir river a little gallows caretaker, being the architect Juan Talavera and Vega . It is the first building neomudéjar Sevilla, being able to appreciate the Arab style in the large windows. In 1890 the Duke of Montpensier died in 1893 and his wife, Luisa Fernanda de Borbón , yields Palace Gardens to the city of Seville. After that, a small extension to the North which will remain private garden of the palace of San Telmo, most of the gardens would become the Maria Luisa Park and the headframe and a small area of surrounding garden encircle departs. The area is populated by other Neo-Mudejar buildings like the Plaza of Spain , during the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929 .
