A Lázár család címere (1633)

A család eddig ismert első említése 1633. szeptember 19. Ekkor kapott címeres nemeslevelet II. Ferdinánd királytól Lázár András, aki Ungvárott volt földbirtokos. Siebmacher Nagy Címerkönyve írja le az adományosok körét: Adels- u. Wappenbrief v. König Ferdinand II., d. d. Wien, 19. Sptbr. 1633 für Andreas Lázár als Haupterwerber u. für seine Ehefrau Elisabeth Károly, für seine Tochter Helene, für den Schwiegersohn Michael Békessy mit den Kindern: Stefan, Thomas, Elisabeth u. Sophie, sowie für Andreas Kopcza, – als Nebenerwerber. (Leg. C. Ctt. A. Ung. fasc. 164. Act. Nr. 373 ex Anno 1765), valamint a címert: Wappen: In rot auf gekröntem Felsen ein Kranich, in d. erhobenen Rechten ein Schwert mit g. Parirstange haltend. – Kleinod: Der Kranich ohne Felsen. – Decken: bg.- rs. Pajzs: vörös alapon, megkoronázott sziklán álló daru, mely jobb lábával parírozó állásban kardot tart. Sisakdísz: a daru a szikla nélkül. Takaró kék-arany és vörös-ezüst. Az armális megléte bizonytalan. Irodalmi említések szerint az ungvári levéltárban volt fellelhető, de az ottani levéltárak többszöri költöztetése, az állomány tűz általi részleges pusztulása kétségeket támaszt. A leszármazást Fodor Zoltán: Mezőtúr város nemes családjai 1848 előtt, Mezőtúr, 1970. (Kézirat, Városi Könyvtár - Mezőtúr) könyvének 169-170. oldala tartalmazza. Orosz Ernő: Heves- és a volt Külső-Szolnok egyesült vármegyék nemes családjai Lázár. Ungvárott volt birtokos. Nemeslevelet II. Ferdinand 1633. évi szept. 19-én adott L. Andrásnak.

Az utóbbi Lázár István mezőtúri lakos Hevesben Ung megye bizonyítványával igazolta és hirdettette ki nemességét 1765-ben. Hogy mikor kerültek az első Lázárok Mezőtúrra, nem tudjuk. Az anyakönyvekben az 1770-es években jelennek meg először. Az említett István leszármazottai több generáción keresztül Mezőtúron megmaradtak, igen népes családokat alkottak. Az utóbbi generációk eleinte (a II. világháború után) kisebb mértékben, majd az utóbbi évtizedekben egyre nagyobb számban kerültek az ország különböző részeibe, sőt, akár külföldre is. Napjainkban a Lázár Andrástól számított 11. generációt már csak néhányan képviselik, viszont már igen nagyszámú a 12-13. generáció, sőt egyre népesebb a 14. is.

Először 2009-ben került megszervezésre egy nagyszabású családi találkozó Lázár Ferenc - Patkós Erzsébet (12 gyermekük született, 11 alapított családot) leszármazottai körében. Az akkor élő több mint 200 személyből (ebben persze a házastársak is szerepeltek) kb. 120-an vettek részt rajta. Ez a szám nagyobb is lehetett volna, ha nem hunyt volna el az egyik, a találkozót nagyon váró családtag csak rövid idővel az esemény előtt. Ezt követően 2014-ben, majd 2019-ben került sor, ha nem is ilyen nagy létszámú, de így is népes találkozóra.
