DescriptionCoa Hungary County Pozsega (history).svg |
English: The historical coat of arms of Pozsega county.
Magyar: Pozsega vármegye címere.
Pozsega vármegye címere vágott pajzs, felső mezejében a vágóvonalon két oroszlán ágaskodik. A jobb oldali szablyát tart, rézsútosan előre. A bal oldali jogart tart, a szablyára keresztbe rakva, annak végén lombkoronával, amelyből zászló tekeredik a jogar köré. A címere csaknem azonos gróf buzini Keglevich Péter címerével, akit 1708-ban I. József (1705-1711) nevezett ki a vármegye örökös főispánjává. A közöttük futó nyest a bőrben fizetendő adóra utal. Termékenysége miatt a déli vidékét a rómaiak Aranyvölgynek nevezték. |
