Description
English: A complete four piece lead cloth seal in good condition. Measuring 38mm in length and 19.8mm in width. Roman numerals 'XXII' 'III' and 'W' can be seen on the cloth seal. Four piece cloth seals are believed to have developed from the two piece cloth seals and date from the late 16th century onwards. Cloth seals were used to mark cloth for commercial sale.
