Title |
cloth seal |
||
Description |
English: A Post-Medieval lead alloy cloth seal, late 15th-17th century in date.
This is a two disc seal with an interconnecting strip. On the first disc is the symbol for the Augsburg Bull and on the second disc is evidence of a symbol but it is difficult to identify.
Augsburg in Germany exported a huge amount of cloth (fustian) and seals from here are commonly found across England. |
