Title
cloth seal
Description
English: Circular lead cloth seal. Very worn. Late post-medieval. Geoff Egan says of the legend: "The visible part of the legend appears to read (?) S:PRO NORTH... (This) could perhaps be Northampton, or possibly something along the lines of half a Northern cloth?"

Central motif is very worn. Appears to be a portcullis, possibly with two characters either side. Geoff Egan has suggested that two stamps may be superimposed onto each other. He adds" This looks like the stamp of an official two-disc seal of the later C16th".
