Description
English: Clipped silver halfcrown of Charles I (1625-1649AD), Equestrian portrait, Group IV, with a star initial mark, dating 1640-1641.  Obverse has the King on horseback, left. The legend reads CAROLVS D G MAG BR FRA ET HE REX.  The reverse has an oval garnished shield and the legend CHRISTO AVSPICE REG[N]O.  See North (1991, 159 No. 2214).
