Summary

[edit]
Description
English: A climbing spin in an airplane, requiring excellent thrust-to-weight ratio. This maneuver was performed at the Arctic Thunder air show, at Elmendorf AFB, Alaska. The maneuver was performed by first "helicoptering" the plane, that is, by climbing straight up and backing off the throttle until the plane was hovering by the propeller. Technically stalled, the torque of the engine begins to spin the airplane, so throttle was re-applied until the craft had enough speed to pull over the top, out of the spin, and recover normal flight.
