Description
English: Photographic black and white print of a glass negative on glossy photo paper.

Photographic reproduction on glass plate of multicolored watercolor drawings. The original watercolor drawings were the same size as the photographic prints. Caricature of Clément Peten on a horse in a busy hippodrome. In the background is a large building. Clément Peten was mayor of Velm from 1898 to 1920 and lived in the Castle Peten-Van-Halen. Peten was co-owner of a successful and prize-winning horse breeding farm 'Fallas en Peten'. The CPSAL acronym refers to sports and athletics. The caricature shows Peten in the context of horses, with Peten-Van-Halen Castle in the background.

This watercolor is part of a collection of caricatures about prominent members of the Comité provincial de Secours et d'Alimantation du Limbourg (CPSAL), which coordinated food supplies in Limburg during the First World War. The CPSAL was a provincial division of the CNSA (Comité National de Secours et d'Alimentation) which, with the approval of the German authorities, was responsible for the supply of the Belgian population. The CNSA was dependent on goods supplied by the Commission for Relief of Belgium (CRB), which was supervised by neutral powers (USA until 1917 and afterwards the Netherlands and Spain). Each caricature features a variation of the acronym CPSAL whose content is related to the person depicted. Variant shown : CPSAL (Club Patriotique de Sports et d'
