Summary[edit]

Description
English: Clachan Hill - summit The summit of Clachan Hill at the top of Loch Fyne, Argyllshire. Triangulation pillar with flush levelling bracket S8763 is on top. The pillar was completed on 3rd June 1956 at a cost of £64.1s.8d. Rewarding 360° panoramic view from top. Approached from the southwest, following a new electrical transmission line - dual poles. Lots of bogs to negotiate on ground disturbed by contractors, sank a few times. Descended south through torturous tussocks down steep slope to Ardgenavan. Neither route recommended. A new track has been ploughed up the west side of the hill, but is not yet mapped. The backdrop of this picture is dominated by Beinn Bhuidhe.
