Summary

[edit]
Description

Looking towards the entry portal for trains coming from Brooklyn Bridge/City Hall. Notice some of the station's 15 vaulted Gustavino arches, as well as the natural skylight.

The station is on a 400-foot-long curve that dips under the 4/5 lines before connecting to the uptown 6 platform at Brooklyn Bridge Station. It was abandoned on December 31, 1945, after the introduction of 10-car trains made it impossible to fit an entire set of carriages in the station.
