Description
English: Old Christmas pyramid from about 1830 - first half of the 19 century. From Germany, Ore Mountains. Ore Mountain folk art, crafted at Schoenheide in the Ore Mountains. Now to be seen in the Brush- and regional Museum at Schoenheide/Saxony
Deutsch: Weihnachtspyramide im Bürsten- und Heimatmuseum Schönheide/Erzgebirge - Text der Beschriftung im Museum: um 1830, gehört zu den ältesten erhaltenen Pyramiden des Erzgebirges. Ca. 60 geschnitzte Figuren. Erste Etage: Bergaufzug und Handwerker. Zweite Etage: Darstellung der biblischen Weihnachtsgeschichte (Maria und Josef auf der Flucht nach Ägypten, Engel, Soldaten, Schriftgelehrter…). Dritte Etage: Paradiesgärtlein mit Adam und Eva, Baum mit Schlange, exotischen Tieren. Der 24. Dezember galt lange Zeit als Adam-und-Eva-Tag. „Der klassische Drehturm aus Schönheide mit seiner Barockbekrönung mag auf die Zeit um 1830 zurückgehen.“ (Adolf Spamer, Deutsche Volkskunst, Sachsen, Weimar 1954) „Älteste geschnitzte Figuren des Bergaufzugs sind auf Pyramiden aus der ersten Hälfte des vergangenen Jahrhunderts (gemeint ist das 19.
