Solar seasonal calendar with Chinese (Eastern) zodiac constellations and their (Western) zodiac counterpart names.
Summary
[edit]DescriptionChinese Constellations.jpg |
English: This particular Solar calendar shows the Stars of the Eastern Zodiac constellations and their Western zodiac counterparts by name, lined up to the current Gregorian calendar as they are in the sky today. It also includes the Seasons and Trees of the Irish calendar. Anytime you see the Sun, the Moon or any of the planets in the day or night sky, they will be passing through one of the 12 constellations of the Zodiac surrounding the horizontal plane of the Sun also known as the (Ecliptic). Chinese astrology, which comes from the ancient art of divination and character reading, is considered to be the oldest form of astrology in history. Its origins trace back to 2637 BC, when the first ecliptic coordinate system (zodiac) was introduced by Emperor Huangdi – the Yellow Emperor. That was the first known recorded year of the Rat and in that year the planet Jupiter was in the Rat constellation which consists of most of the stars in the Western zodiac's Gemini constellation. Moving on to the next year 2636 B.C., Jupiter was in the Ox constellation also known as the constellation Cancer and so on through the rest of the 12 constellations to complete one 12-year cycle as Jupiter spends approximately 1 year traveling from one zodiac constellation to the next one in order. After 60 years Jupiter would not land in the Rat constellation on the year of the Rat again until 1605 B.C. which marked the beginning of the next 1,032-year Cycle. 2023 is the year of the Rabbit and Jupiter is in the Zodiac's Dog Constellation also known as the constellation Aries. The cycle we are in now began in 1491 A.D. The next time Jupiter will be in the Rat constellation in the year of the Rat will be in the year 2523 A.D. |
