| Description | L'entrée principale de Chinatown se trouve à l'intersection de Grant Avenue et de Bush Street. Elle fut offerte en 1969 par la république populaire de Chine à la diaspora chinoise san-franciscaine. Avec ses 150.000 habitants, c'est aujourd'hui la plus grande ville chinoise hors d'Asie après New York. Les marchands de fruits et légumes, les herboristes, les rôtisseries, les toits des bâtiments, les lampadaires, les cabines téléphoniques, les noms des rues, tout ici prend des allures de Chine. Pour mieux saisir l'atmosphère de ce morceau d'Asie, l'idéal est de venir faire son marché le samedi ou le dimanche matin, de bonne heure, en même temps que les habitants du quartier. |
