Text Appearing Before Image:
66 John Lewis Childs, Inc., Floral Park, X. V. Cabbage There is no garden vegetable grown that success or failure so plainly depends upon the quality or seeds sown. Poor seed of Cabbage is poor at any price. Our seed is all raised on Long Island, where the finest Cab- bages in the world are grown. We could buy common Cabbage seed for very much less, but we know our cus- tomers would rather pay a little more and get seeds they can rely npon. Three things are necessary to raise nne Cabbage—extra good seed, rich mellow soil and thor- ough cultivation. All Seasons — As the name would indicate, good for all seasons—early, medium or late. A sure header and long keeper; quality very flne. It is a remarkably good new sort. Head large and solid, round with flat top, llnest quality and ready for marketing almost as early as the standard early sort. Pkt., 5c: oz., 20c: tt>.. $4.00. Volga— This is, without exception, the neare>t approach to perfection of any variety..Heads uniformly solid: in this respect it is a wonder, as the head< are or about equal size and shape, weighing from twelve to flfteeu lbs., each. In one Held or three acres there was not a single plant thrown out, or showed, in any respect, any variation from a true and valuable type. Unlike most types the heads are perfectly solid and the stnn does not run into the head nearly as far as in other types, and the flesh is exceedingly firm, tender aud white, making it a most desirable form Tor kraal, as well as for all other purposes. The most seeero winter known in this section did not inflict the slight est injury on the Volga; not a lear was lost, while all other kinds suffered terribly. This type is remarkable Tor its quick-growing habit. We have noticed par- ticularly this sort and llnd that it will mature its heads Tully two weeks earlier than any of our late- growing kinds. Pkt.. 10c; oz., 25C; lb., $4.50.

Copenhagen Market — Absolutely the earliest ami the very best round-headed early Cabbage Tor BiMMljFi short stemmed, compact with broad leaves and perfect heads or about ten pounds In weight. Remarkably unirorm In size and maturing. The most remarkable w Cabbage in 20 years. Pkt.. 15c; o*., 40C; n»- $5.0.0. E. Dadgeon, Calgary, Alta., Canada, says: Your All Seasons Cabbage Is a great success. I grew solid beads weighing thirty to thirty-live pounds. L. P. Moths, so. r.rthlehpin. Pa., savs: I raf>ed a bead or your World lo-ater Cabbage 4 2 x 37 inche-, fbe big- gest head ever raised about here.
