Title
Children's books in cabinet, ca. 1910
Description
This set is likely part of what the library called it's "school duplicate collection" which supplied books directly to the classroom. According to the library's 1908 annual report, "Sets of twenty volumes are sent to school rooms in grades four to eight inclusive. Reference books in limited numbers are also placed in the principals' offices and drawn from there by teachers. These reference collections contain from 50 to 90 volumes each. In the first, second, and third grades, picture books and pleasure readers are furnished in sets of twenty-four volumes each for use in the school rooms under the direct supervision of the teachers. During the past year 66 public parochial, and Sunday schools have been supplied with books."
