English: Christ holding a sphere with the chi-rho monogramm, detail from an altar front comissionned by Emperor Henry II for an important abbey, then given to the Basel Cathedral. Gold on oak wood, Fulda (?), early 11th century.
Français : Le Christ tenant un globe portant le chrisme, détail d'un devant d'autel commandé par l'empereur Henri II pour une abbaye importante, puis donné à la cathédrale de Bâle. Or sur âme de chêne, Fulda (?), début du XIe siècle.
