Description

Despite the Opala being one of, if not the favorite Brazilian car of all times, I've never been a fan of it, but I have a soft spot for these made in 1992, like the one on the picture, one of the last ones made.

General Motors of Brasil basically took the lightweight German 1966 Opel Rekord C and installed the engines previously used on the Impala sold here: the 151 inline-four and the venerable Stovebolt, the 230 for the first few years and the 250 from 1971 to 1992, making it the first local Muscle Car, for Brazilian standards at least.

The name Opala itself is said to be a mix of Impala and Opel.
