Français : Préparatoire au tableau Clio, muse qui préside à l'Histoire (The Cleveland Museum of Art, voir I. Mayer-Michalon, Charles Meynier, 1763-1832, Paris 2008, pp. 30,32,152, ill.) exposé au Salon de 1798. Le tableau fit parti d'une commande privée représentant les Neuf Muses et destiné à orner la galerie des Muses de l'hôtel particulier d'un industriel toulousain: François-Bernard Boyer-Fonfrède. Une autre étude pour ce tableau, de même technique mais avec des différences, est aujourd'hui conservée en collection particulière (op.cit, 2008, D.38, ill.).
