A NEAV Country-seat near Boston. — In 1889, whileCharless office was still at No. 9 Park Street, he began togive advice about his new country-place to Mr. Henry S.Hunnewell, of the firm of Shaw & Hunnewell, architects,whose office was in the same building. Mr. Hunnewell pro-posed to make a handsome place gradually out of a rough,rocky, and rather barren wooded tract in Wellesley. Thehouse site was to be selected, the approach-road laid out, allthe lesser buildings and enclosures provided for, the gardensdesigned, the woods improved, and new plantations made.Mr. Hunnewell, being an architect, was accustomed to the useof drawings and to superintending work.
