Summary

English: Bicycle racks in front of a handicapped parking space along the original low-level platform of the NRHP listed Chappaqua Railroad Depot and Depot Plaza on the Metro-North Harlem Line in Chappaqua, New York. Built in 1902 by the New York Central and Hudson River Railroad as a replacement for earlier stations, some of which were built by the New York and Harlem Railroad, it is still used partially by Metro-North Railroad, and the bike rack was installed during the Metro-North days, but that doesn't really take anything away from the historic status of the station. An enclosed shelter to the elevator between the old platform and the pedestrian bridge built between 1983 and 1984 can be seen to the left. The old low-level platform was previously bound for Chatham, New York in Columbia County, back when New York Central ran trains from Grand Central Terminal to Chatham Union Station until Penn Central Railroad closed the line north of Dover Plains in 1972.
