...Dans la cathédrale de Nevers, monument qu'on ne saurait étudier avec trop de soin, à cause des curieuses modifications qu'il a subies, on voit encore, dans la nef, un triforium qui date de 1230 environ. Les chapiteaux de ce triforium sont exécutés par d'habiles sculpteurs, et ils présentent les dernières traces de l'ornementation plantureuse, grasse du commencement du XIIIe siècle, avec une tendance marquée vers l'imitation de la nature...
