Channel chart of the thorax and abdomen, woodcut illustration fromCai ai bianyi(The Mugwort Gatherer's Companion), published in 1805 (10th year of the Jiaqing reign period of the Qing dynasty).

In this image, the paths of the channels of the thorax and abdomen are shown by vertical lines on a schematic outline drawing of the torso. The central line representsrenmai(the Director Vessel, also translated as Conception Vessel); the lines to either side represent the kidney channel of footshaoyin, the stomach channel of footyangming, the liver channel of footjueyin, the spleen channel of foottaiyinand the gall bladder channel of footshaoyang.
