Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Chale: trig point on St. Catherine's Hill Literature suggests that the highest point on the Isle of Wight is St. Boniface Down (235m), a couple of miles east of here, although you would be forgiven for thinking it was here if you look at the map. Here we see the well-painted trig point catching the last of the early evening sunlight and casting a long shadow beside that of 1565604. The vast area visible to the east has possibly seen the last of the sun this month!
