English: English: I took this photo at a lucky moment as the sun rose under cloudy skies in Chaco Canyon, New Mexico. At the time I wondered how the original inhabitants marveled at this view of their handiwork, in their own time. Pueblo del Arroyo with South Gap in the background. Bob OBrien, Portland Oregon

Earlier that morning, before sunrise, I observed two Black Swifts (Cypseloides niger) fly in off the desert, turn and sail along the cliffs at the rear. Rara Avis, Rara Locus.
