Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Similarity of the scutoid solid with the dorsal thoracic exoskeleton in cetoniid/cetoniine beetles (here exemplified by an individual of Cetonia aurata) according to Gómez-Gálvez et al. (2018)[1]. Numbers refer to the (pro)scutum (1), correspondig to one of the basal faces of the scutoid, the scutellum (2), and the elytrae (3 = right elytrum), both corresponding to lateral faces of the scutoid. The name of the scutoid solid is (officially) derived from the scutum and scutellum elements.
