Description Central Park est un espace vert artificiel entièrement amnénagé par l'homme. L'un des rares endroits à New York où l'on peut marcher sur de la terre et non sur du bitume. Au départ, c'était un terrain vague, et dès 1844, un journaliste du New York Post eu l'idée de faire campagne pour l'aménager. La décision fut prise par l'assemblée de l'Etat de New York en 1853 et les travaux débutèrent en 1857 pour s'achever 16 ans plus tard.
