| Description |
English: Cemetery gatelodge, Stranmillis Road, Belfast The exact date when Friars Bush cemetery was first used is not known though some think that the site might have its origins in the pre-Christian era or that it has links to St Patrick. It has many claims to fame but the best known is that it was used as a cholera pit following the epidemic in 1832-33. The cemetery is open only at certain times. The gate lodge dates from 1829. |
