English: Chicken Coupe DeVille is a Grammy nominated rock and roll band from the San Jose area of California who achieved notoriety during the beginning of the year 1999. They are known for they’re onstage “high octane” performances, as well as “twin” guitar solos. A style that was popularized in the 1950’s by such artists as Speedy West & Jimmy Bryant.
Chicken Coupe DeVille produced two albums to date. The first titled “Twang Bang Deluxe”, which was self produced. The second album entitled, “Drinkin’ Songs & Smokin’ Guitars” was produced by Ray Kennedy at the Room and Board studios in Nashville, Tennessee. Style: Chicken Coupe Deville are credited with trail blazed the somewhat eclectic style of a combination of music. Big band swing era, bluegrass, rockabilly, and tejano music. Little else is known of this often imitated four piece California band. They always performed with minimal instrumentation, consisting of two guitars, upright bass, and drums. They are know both for they’re “Liberace-esque” clothing , as well as stage volume. |
