Description
English: A pair of Blue Tits was nesting in a cavity made in a common elder (Sambucus nigra) trunk. This image shows the entrance of the cavity at a height of 5.08 feet (1.55 metres) with an entrance size of 1.77 inches (45 mm) in diameter and a depth of 13.78 inches (35 cm). In the afternoon when all five young Blue Tits had emerged from the shadow of the cavity parameters of the nest were taken. Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, Palaearctic.
