Estilo‎: ‎Gótico valenciano‎, ‎Renacentista‎, ‎Barroco.

En 1281, Alfonso X el Sabio estableció que la iglesia del Salvador y Santa María debía ser la mayor de la villa, teniendo primacía sobre las otras dos parroquias de Orihuela, las iglesias de las Santas Justa y Rufina y Santiago Apóstol, concediéndole el rango superior de arciprestal.
