Description

Antes ser conquistada por Roma la Península Ibérica estaba poblada por varios pueblos celtas. Los vetones (o vettones) ocupaban las actuales provincias de Salamanca, Avila y norte de Toledo. En tiempos anteriores a la conquista buscaban emplazamientos fáciles de defender. El castro (poblado) de Ulaca ocupa un cerro a unos 1.500 metros de altitud. Los historiadores calculan que pudo tener una población de 1.500 habitantes; bastante para aquella época.

Su ocupación se fecha entre los siglos III y I a.C.
