Description
Deutsch: Google-Screenshot zum Sprichwort: Heute haben wir einen Feiertag, aber zu Castell mistet man die Ställ. Es erinnert an die Schlacht bei Kitzingen 1266. (Siehe [1].)
English: Google screenshot for the search terms “kastell mistet sprichwort ställ” which delivers multiple sites with the proverb “Heute haben wir einen Feiertag, aber zu Castell mistet man die Ställ” which translates to “Today we have a holiday but at Castell they are mucking out the stables”. The proverb refers to the battle on 8 August 1266 in Kitzingen between the Prince-Bishopric of Würzburg and the House of Castell which was won by Würzburg and continued to be celebrated annually on the day of St. Cyriacus.
