Title
Cast copper alloy sword belt fitting
Description
English: An early post-medieval copper-alloy strap fitting from a sword belt hanger, dating to the period 1500 to 1700.The plate is sub triangular in shape with a trifoliate terminal and decorated with foliate decoration. There are two rivet holes, both of which retain the iron rivets.

Originally this object would have been one of three similar plates, which would have hung from a mount with three suspension loops. Each plate would have had a forward-facing globular-ended hook, missing from this example. See Read 2008, 220 No. 793 for a reconstructed example.
