Description
English: Cast copper alloy ring stopper (tamper) for use with a tobacco pipe. The ring has a flat oval bezel bearing the initials RY flanking a stylised tobacco plant motif.The plain shoulders taper to the base of the loop.Immediately below the ring is an oval.This oval is separated from the tamper by a double collar and is undecorated.The tamper part then tapers to a foot that is oval in plan.

Length: 47.6mm; width of ring: 20.5mm; thickness: 1.7mm; width of foot: 6.35mm; depth of foot: 5.06mm; diameter of tamper shaft: 4.0mm.Weight:8.4g
