Title
Cast copper alloy harness pendant dating to the 14th century.
Description
English: Cast copper alloy harness pendant dating to the 14th century. It is shield shaped in plan and flat. The top of the object which would have included an attachment loop has broken away. In the chief of the field are two lions facing left. Below this on the base is an unclear design. The object may have been enamelled however no evidence of this remains. The remains of gilding can be seen on the base. The reverse is plain. The object has a reddish brown patina. The pendant can be identified as Type I from the London Museum Medieval Catalogue.
