Title
Cast copper alloy Early Medieval zoomorphic strap-end, 9/10th century in date.
Description
English: Cast copper alloy zoomorphic terminal, probably a box fitting, 11/12th century in date. The object is broken. It seems to represent the head of a an animal with the face, eyes and nose visible. The eyes are two concave circles. The nose is represented by a rise at the end of the face. At the end of the nose is a circular termial, with a circular perforation, possibly for attachment. The object has a semi-circular cross section which is bigger at the head of the animal.
