Description
English: Marine pallbearers pulled the casket holding Capt. Frederick C. Branch, the first African-American commissioned officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, out of a hearse Wednesday. Branch was buried at the Quantico National Cemetery with full military honors. He died at age 82 April 10 in Philadelphia after a short illness.
