Carte-de-visite photograph of Youel G. Rust. Forty-nine-year old Rust entered the service as captain of the Albany Guards in April 1861, and remained in that position until the reorganization in 1862. This unit became Company E, 4th Georgia and Rust was remembered as being "intelligent, refined and [a] true gentleman, and did much to bring the regiment to that state of discipline for which it was always celebrated." |
