Description
Carte-de-visite photograph of William H. Willis. Willis succeeded to the office of captain of Company I, 4th Georgia Infantry after Capt. Prothro resigned in 1862. The following year, in March 1863, he became major of the regiment. Wounded at Chancellorsville, he was promoted to lieutenant colonel in July 1863, and colonel in 1864.
