Description

Carta general de la República Mexicana. Formada Y Corregida Con presencia de los ultimos datos y el auxilio de las autoridades mas competentes. Mexico, Impa. Litoga. De Debray, Editor. Esquina del Callejon del Espiritu Santo y Coliseo Viejo. 1867. (inset) Croquis de los Caminos de Mexico a Vera-Cruz. (with 3 additional inset maps and 4 profiles).

This is a superb map in the style of Disturnell. With many inset maps, profiles, tables, and Comparative Heights of Mountains. Phillips lists an early version of 1865 with slightly different title. Garcia Cubas published an even larger map of Mexico in 1863 for which this map was, most likely, competition. Outline color. Map is folded into plain blue card board covers 18x12 with "Map of Mexico" handwritten in ink. Prime meridian is Greenwich. Relief shown by hachures.
