Summary[edit]

Description
English: Picture of the Carnegie Free Library of Braddock located at 419 Library Street in Braddock, Pennsylvania, on August 7, 2010. The library was built in 1888, and was the first Carnegie library in the United States.[1] Architect: William Halsey Wood. An addition was added in 1893, architects Longfellow, Alden & Harlow. Architectural style: Richardsonian Romanesque. Supposedly, Braddock's Defeat occurred about two blocks to the right of this view in July 1755. The library is on the National Register of Historic Places and the List of Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmarks.
