English: A small evaporated milk company which opened in Kent in 1899 grew to become the nationally known Carnation Company. Canned milk had a small market at first, but was soon accepted by hungry babies and gold-rush miners alike. Caption on image: Carnation Milk - The modern milkman. Mt. Rainier, Wash. - height 14,526 ft. From contented cows. Green grass the year 'round on the North Pacific Coast. Souvenir A.Y.P. Exposition, Seattle, 1909. Postmarked August 12, 1909, from Carbonado, Wash.; one-cent stamp. Handwritten on verso: Victor [Emflit?], Carbonado Wash. VE [mog?] ES [Coft?]. Dear Friend - The kids in Carbonado wants [sic] to see the Ball game at S.P.P.M. So Please come up in the morning to call the game at 10 A.M. Addressed to Jim Cothrey in Wilkeson, Wash.
