English: FRANCISCUS GALLIARUM REX CAROLUM V AUGUSTUM COMPRIMENDAE DEFECTIONIS CAUSA IN BELGAS PROFICISCENTEM ET ALEXANDRUM FARNESIUM CARDINALEM MAGNIS DE REBUS LEGATUM LUTETIAE PARISIORUM AMPLISSIMO APPARATU SUSCEPIT ANNO SALUTIS MDCL ("Francis King of the Gauls receives at "Lutetia (i.e. the City of Paris) of the Parisii (tribe)", with greatest pomp, Charles V Augustus on his setting out towards the Belgae (tribe) (i.e.Flanders) in the cause of suppressing defections, and Cardinal Alessandro Farnese, legate concerning great matters, in the Year of Salvation 1540").
