| Description |
English: Car park, Drake Circus, Plymouth This is a typically anonymous car park. We live under the tyranny of the car and its empire, to which so many of us are slaves, whether willing or unwilling. Small steps are being taken to fight back and recover the streets for pedestrians. This could be anywhere.
We have grown used to the effect of shuttered concrete and fluorescent lighting. We don't want to linger. Mercifully, in this one, there is no piped music. We are grateful if the car park does not bear the signs of our threadbare culture. This car park is a single basement floor underneath a store (Staples) on the Drake Circus roundabout. If it is full, you are regurgitated into a one way street at the back of the building. During this recession, parking is not too much of a problem. |
